ARTICLE I. Purposes and Structure

The AUGP-UN University For Global Peace- shall be a Global Thinktank and an international community of scholars, engaged in research, postgraduate training and dissemination of knowledge in furtherance of the purposes and principles of the Charters of the United Nations and European Commission with the aim of promoting among all human beings the spirit of understanding, tolerance and peaceful coexistence, to stimulate cooperation among peoples and to help lessen obstacles and threats to world peace and progress.

The Institution shall devote its work to research into the pressing global problems of human survival, development and welfare that are the concern of the international community, with due attention to Arts,  Integrative Medicines, Behavioural Sciences, Cosmetology, Legal Studies, Management and Finance, Nursing, Neuroscience and other l sciences, pure and applied.

The research programmes of the institution shall include, among other subjects, coexistence between peoples having different cultures, languages and social systems; peaceful relations between States and the maintenance of peace and security; human rights; economic and social change and development; the environment and the proper use of resources; basic scientific research and the application of the results of science and technology in the interests of development; and universal human values related to the improvement of the quality of life.

It shall have as a central objective of its research and training centres and programmes the continuing growth of vigorous academic and scientific communities everywhere and particularly in the developing countries, devoted to their vital needs in the fields of learning and research within the framework of the aims assigned to those centres and programmes in the present Charter.

The Institution which will operate with affiliation to several accredited Universities worldwide aims to promote research and education for the benefit of humanity in all fields useful to people through;

(a)          Encouraging educational & research programs, seminars, and conferences, worldwide

(b)          Affiliation & collaboration with educational institutions & academic persons in other countries

(c)           to conduct lectures, seminars, and other educational programmes and to publish information and educational material with a view to promoting the well-being of all humans.

(g)          to utilize and harness nature and natural resources for developing the culture, education and the health of mankind;

(h)         to do all such other acts and things as are conducive or incidental to, the attainment of the aforesaid objects.

ARTICLE II. Organization

Shall consist of:

(a) A Board of Governors shall serve as the governing board of the Institution.

(b) A Chief Rector and President  who shall be responsible to the Council for the direction, administration, programming and coordination

(c) A Chancellor, Regional Rectors and Faculty of qualified scholars from all over the world

(c) The research and training centres and diverse programmes.

ARTICLE III. Location

As a worldwide system of research and training centres and programmes, It will have its location at the site of each centre or programme and also operate as an international multi-campus university.

It shall have its  branches and learning centres worldwide and also operate as a digital global virtual campus

ARTICLE IV . Status and Authority

It may acquire and dispose of real and personal property and may take other legal actions necessary to the performance of its functions.

It may enter into agreements, contracts or arrangements with governments, organizations, institutions, firms or individuals for the purpose of carrying out its activities and may grant affiliated status to institutions meeting its approved standards.

The decisions are made by a majority vote of the Council. Board of Governors Resolutions will be ratified with the final authority of Rector Cum President. In case of equal numbers of Votes in the Board of Governors then The Rector Cum President will have the right to use His privilege with one additional vote to take a final decision.

ARTICLE V- Research-based and Honorary degrees

The University is hereby empowered to confer degrees, Diplomas, Certificates and other distinctions including Honorary degrees to and on persons who shall have pursued a course of study approved by the University and have passed the examinations, and tests prescribed by the University.

This AUGP Charter has been endorsed and issued by those International IGOs and INGOs affiliated to AUGP USA from all over the world in August 2000
