At a time when Sri Lanka is making efforts to modernize education and throw open the opportunity to a greater number of children to be enrolled in educational programmes, efforts to introduce a curriculum based on aesthetics is in the right direction.
United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4: specifically targets quality education and Aesthetic Education which incorporates the arts across the curriculum in a way that fosters a heightened awareness of and an appreciation for all that touches our lives. It is a way of regaining touch with the process of learning something new, of being introduced to a medium never known in a particular way before.
Traditionally we focus most of our attention on linguistic and logical-mathematical intelligence. However, Multiple Intelligence studies have shown that we should also place equal attention on individuals who show gifts in the other intelligences: the artists, architects, musicians, naturalists, designers, dancers and so on. Unfortunately, many children who have these gifts have not been provided with such opportunities and we believe your efforts will help open a new window of opportunity to brighten the lives of Sri Lankan youth of the future.
Presently we run a Cerificate programme and a Diploma in Chidcare Management.
“Together we may give our children the roots to grow and wings to fly”
we provide a Childcare Management programme that lays the foundation for social literacy of the community. This programme builds on the evidence in early childhood education for Childcare professionals, to provide children with advantages that are amplified and reinforced over time.
Early childhood is the most critical time for positive intervention. Children’s development during this stage is strongly affected by their environment and the childcare professionals, and that effect continues to exert a strong influence on the rest of their lives. It is of the utmost importance that educational and life skills programmes such as AUGP programmes for those who have a passion for being a childcare professional.
Childcare Management programme is an ultimate course for those who are aspiring to be Childcare proffesionals, which is challenging but very rewarding profession, who will be perform a crucial part in serving children to acquire and develop the knowledge and skills they will need in later life.
Therefore, we at AUGP focus on igniting the skills and knowledge of the Childcare professionals to become adoring professionals and to be devoted professionals in providing confident and superior service to the childhood development system of the community.
